If you're looking for an unpretentious, but delicious lunch stop in Melbourne this weekend, you need to check out Hosier Lane. It is jam packed with sophisticated urban graffiti, cafes and restaurants. Head over with a group of friends and an empty belly. You won't regret it.
I highly recommend Hoboken Cafe. You'll be tempted to eat everything in sight. Don't! Try a couple things and share between you...but save room, I've got something better. On the same street you'll find MoVida. The food was utterly spectacular! Hang on...and I'll walk you through the menu! ;D
We ordered bread for change campaign
Anchoa - Hand filleted Cantabarian artisan anchovy on crouton with smoked tomato sorbet (simply refreshing!)
Cordero Al Chilindron - Pyrenees wet roast lamb breast with fino and paprika sauce
Paté de Pato - Duck liver parfait with Pedro Ximenez foam and toasted brioche
Specials - Truffle egg on brioche
Specials - Chargrilled quail with cauliflower puree
Setas Asadas Con Jerez - Oven roasted portobello mushrooms finished with Sherry vinegar
ULTRA DELISHHHH! Cecina - Air dried wagyu with poached organic egg and truffle foam (This dish won Dish of The Year from the Age Good Food Guide when MoVida first put it on the menu in 2007 and they have never been able to take it off since, definitely a must try on anyone's Melb food odyssey itinerary)
Bu˜neolos De Bacalao Con Pil-pil - Salt cod and potato fritter with lemon emulsion
There's always a queue with this restaurant. So get there early or expect a long wait, if you get in at all!
Sydneysiders - don't despair as yet MoVida Sydney is now opened on 50 Holt St, Surry Hills NSW 2010 ;D
Happy Weekend all xoxo
